 PDF or mp3 FILES:
To download a file in pdf or
mp3 format, simply RIGHT click on the link and you'll see a menu like the on
on the right open up. (MAC
users just click the link and hold down
on the mouse button)
In
Internet Explorer Choose "Save
Target As..." and download the file
to your desktop (in Netscape you
choose "Save Link As..").
Once you
select "save target as" or "save link
as" a download screen will come up
asking you where you want to save the
file to on your computer.
You should save the
files to your "Desktop" (in a new folder) or
another folder you can easily find.
Once you have downloaded the
file, go to your desktop or the file you saved it to and double click the pdf or mp3 file to open
it. This should launch your MP3 player
or media player so you can listen to the
call.
If the document is in pdf format, you will
need to have acrobat reader installed on your computer
to read it.
If you haven't
updated to at least version 5.0, you can
click
here to get it, just make sure you download the version
you need for your computer (PC, Mac, Linux, etc.). Don't
worry, it's FREE.
ZIPPED and exe. FILES:
To begin with, if your
download comes in a zipped format, and you do not already have unzipping
software on your computer, you will need to download one of the below now.
Once you're all set with the above, all you need to do is left
click on download link or links you were provided and your downloads
will begin.
You will be
brought to a "File Download" box that asks you what you would like to
do with this file.
The "Save
the program to disk" option is already selected, and this is the option
you want to select (unless you want to just view the e-book from its current
location and not download it to your own PC to view at your leisure.)
To proceed from
the download just click "OK" at the bottom of this box.
This will bring
you to a "Save As" box that will ask you where you want to save the
portfolio.
Your Desktop
(desktop icon on navigation bar) is probably the best choice
so that the file(s) will be easily accessible. If you want
to stick with this default selection, simply click
"Save" and the download will proceed.
( To select an
option other than the one displayed in the "Save
As" box, click on the folder to the right of the box
and it will display a number of alternate locations.
Double-click on the icon location of your choice - make a
note of it - and proceed with the download by clicking
"Save.")
The downloads could take anywhere from a minute to several
minutes depending on how you are connected to the Internet, but if you want to
move on to other online activities while a file is downloading you can
simply minimize it by clicking the (-) icon on the file toolbar.
Once the file has downloaded, simply click it open. If you
have downloaded a zipped file, you
will see the document inside of it.
If the document is in exe. format (and you have Windows) it
will simply open up and you can begin viewing.
